Language Teachers
Are you looking for new ideas for your language lessons? Are you feeling challenged at the prospect of teaching a foreign language? Have you found a way to engage every child in your class and ensure that everyone is learning and enjoying their language learning? Maybe you’ve been spending hours of your own free time preparing games and worksheets for your lessons?
We offer a unique a unique collection of tried and tested resources which will help you to deliver foreign language teaching to beginners of primary age, especially in KS2. You do not need advanced language skills: the teacher’s notes provide clear guidance and native speaker sound files on the CD provide a model for pronunciation.
What makes us unique?
While software packages have given great impetus to language learning and are often very compelling, only one child at a time is able to respond. We have combined the benefits of interactive whiteboard type lessons (for visual and auditory learners) with a hands on approach for kinaesthetic learners through the provision of ready-made playing cards, which can be used alone or in conjunction with the whiteboard. This way every child is engaged and can progress from the guided activities on the whiteboard to a variety of games in small group or whole class activities.
Covering subjects recommended in the QCA, our Topic boxes will save you hours of preparation time and guarantee your children will have great fun while they learn. You will love wandering round the room listening to spontaneous French or Spanish from every group as the card games create the need to communicate in the target language. Included in the box are lots of ideas for games which will exploit the language of the topic until it is second nature. The simple written activity sheets will consolidate the new words and the children will love using the questionnaires to interview each other.
Want to generate income for your school and engage the parents in their child’s learning?
Does your school try to engage the parents in the children’s learning? Children often ask if they can take the games home. Now they can! For a small additional outlay, you could opt to buy an extra box of cards with the Topic box and then sell them to the children at a nominal price. Few parents would object to paying £1 or even £1.50 for a pack of cards and a Snakes and Ladders game which would allow them to learn with their child at home and you would recoup a large proportion of the cost of the Topic Box. Result: happy children, happy parents and cheap resource!
