Let’s Play Languages topic boxes are very interesting, useful resources for the language classroom. They give pupils ample possibilities for developing communicative competence using a kinaesthetic approach.
Pupils need to communicate in ‘real’ settings in order to best develop their language communication skills and the topic boxes give pupils these opportunities. Their versatility and accessibility make them a very useful language teaching resource.

I think this is an amazing product for teaching languages for primary and secondary students. The topic boxes cover all the topics set for study in the NSW syllabus. Not only this but by using the games you can cover all of the language skill areas - speaking, listening , reading and writing. I find that my year 7\'s love the games and are learning without even knowing that they are. I would never have the time to develop a resource like this. - I thing it represents outstanding value for money, and think its so great to just have so many options all ready to go at my fingertips for a treat in class without feeding them lollies!
As a language teacher I find that most kids have a pretty poor attitude to learning a second language. I so strongly believe that as a language teacher it is my responsibility to make the syllabus accessible, relevant and fun for my kids and these resources have made this possible.

The Topic Boxes fulfill a vital role in language learning - they allow children to practise whilst having fun. They allow for social interaction and are kinaesthetic in nature. A very worthwhile resource that will really help teachers and children.

I have used the cards with a variety of age groups (Year 3 to Year 8) and they are always popular. They provide constant opportunity for rewards (verbal or stickers). Since the games are short, the pace of the activities is fast and interest levels high. Pupils really look at the spelling of the words and get maximum exposure to the written word in a very simple way. One can focus on gender or accents or sound spelling links in a hands on way.
Snakes and Ladders was extremely popular. Pupils knew the phrases from the cards and very quickly were saying the whole phrase every time they landed on a picture or text square. The dual appeal of collecting points and winning the game made it a game where pupils used a lot of language throughout the game.

I find card games in pairs or groups very stimulating and motivating in primary language teaching. I have used Letʼs Play French card packs (also available in Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese and English - great for ESL students), and would say that they create enjoyable, useful language activities with no timeconsuming preparation of picture and word cards. Use the cards according to the suggestions supplied or get your pupils to create their own games. I also often use these cards on a visualiser to play class games and vocabulary learning activities..again itʼs great to have ready-made picture and word cards, saving a lot of preparation time. I also like the fact that when playing card games in pairs/ groups, each of the card packs has a different colour to make packing away straightforward and avoiding mix ups.

The children have really enjoyed using the two topics that we have at the moment. I find the cards really useful to add a different approach to learning as they are so versatile and lend themselves to many different activities. Many thanks again.

Over the last year I have purchased a number of resources from Letʼs Play Languages ltd, including posters and games. They are attractive, easy to use and very popular with my KS2 pupils. The topic based playing cards in particular are very versatile and I have used them for individual, group and whole class activities. A great resource for primary MFL
